The frame has frame parts (10, 11) for respective blind and wing frames including multiple layers and glued corner connections i.e. mortise and tenon connections. Longitudinal grooves (24, 25, 28) are provided in a region of the frame parts. A heat-insulating material is provided within the grooves. The grooves are formed by cutting the glued frame. The grooves are extended parallel to a window plane and outside glued joints (17-23) for the corner connections. The grooves are provided adjacent to each other in a heat transfer direction. The frame is made of wood. The heat-insulating material is a foam plastic, and a layer made of fibers such as dry foam e.g. polystyrene foam or polyurethane foam. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a window frame.
