The device has a tracking unit for pivotally supporting the collector structure (1) about a pivot axis (3), or a point of pivot bearings driven solar collector (2). A heat transfer medium is flowed to solar absorber (5). The solar absorber is provided with a temperature detecting unit which detects the temperature of the solar absorber and a corresponding signal of the tracking unit for tracking the direction of radiation fed to the solar absorber. The heat radiation of solar absorber is detected without contact of temperature detecting unit. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for tracking radiation direction of collector structure of solar collector; and (2) method for testing efficiency of solar thermal power station.
