The method involves inserting a lighter (16) into a receptacle (14) in a lighter holder (12). The sectional caulking of a wall of the receptacle is inserted into a caulking area (34) by using a tool (36), such that a positive connection is formed with a surface (20) of the lighter. Multiple spreads, particularly three to five caulking areas are formed over the periphery of the receptacle, where a punch is used as a tool in the caulking area having a circular cross section. An independent claim is included for an assembly with a lighter holder for a gas generator.
