Substituted N,N,N',N'-tetraaryl-benzidine derivatives (I) are new. Substituted N,N,N',N'-tetraaryl-benzidine derivatives of formula (I) are new. R : 1-30C alkyl (optionally substituted and optionally branched), H or halo; Ar1 : aryl (optionally mono- or polysubstituted by at least one group -R1-NR2R3); R1 : 2-20C alkylene (optionally branched); and R2, R3 : H or 1-5C alkyl. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a layered body comprising a first layer containing a conductive polymer, and a further layer containing (I), which is arranged on the first layer; (2) producing the layered body, comprising (i) applying the conductive polymer on a substrate to obtain a first layer, and (ii) applying (I) on the first layer; and (3) an electronic component comprising the above layered body.
