The method involves pressing carding elements at a carrier (3) during operation by spring force by the groove rail or nuts (7) in the carrier. The spring force is lifted for changing the carding element by an element e.g. hose (8), tappet or rubber element, acting at positions. The spring force is transferred into a groove guiding profile of the carding elements by a groove block (4) or the groove rail. The spring force is lifted by the hose pressurized with a pressure medium or by motion of an inclined plane. Springs (6) are actuated by the hose, the tappet or the inclined plane. An independent claim is also included for a device for changing carding elements in a carrier.
