The plant has a nacelle positioned with a rotor bearing tower on a platform (14). The nacelle is provided at an upper end of a shaft (12) e.g. tube, of a foundation construction. The tower is supported over a self-aligning bearing on the shaft, and extends downward into the shaft with an extension portion (18) rising up by the self-aligning bearing. Adjustment units are provided for vertical alignment of the tower. The adjustment units act between the extension portion and the shaft, and the extension portion is ballasted.
