The method involves generating a mechanical tension by multiple pre-stressed bolts (9,9') arranged concentric around a middle axis of a mounting screw (3). The pre-stressed bolts are placed in a concentrically extending connection ring (6), particularly in a washer, so that the connection ring is mechanically pre-stressed against respective bearing components (2,10). The circumferential connection ring is a part of the associated bearing component. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an apparatus for generating a mechanical tension in one of mutually rotatable mechanical bearing components of a slewing ring; and (2) an apparatus for mechanical clamping of a screw in each of mutually rotatable mechanical bearing components of a slewing ring.
