The semi-finished structural element (1) comprises a wooden panel (2) and a composite mortar layer (3) applied on one side of the wooden panel. A cement based or silicate based adhesive is attached on the surface to be cladded. The wooden panel is designed as a plywood panel, veneer panel, particle board, fiber board, laminated board or composite wood panel, such as wood-plastic composite panel. The composite mortar layer has a binder, such as cement or a silicate binder and an additive, such as silica sand, and is mixed with additional water. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a semi-finished structural element.
