A fluid-operated drive unit (2) converts fluid energy into kinetic energy. A generator (3) coupled to drive unit converts kinetic energy into electrical energy which is stored in storage device (5) and is supplied to electrical consumer (4). A valve device (23) is provided for flow of fluid to drive unit. The magnetic coil (15) and coil armature (16) are coupled with electrical output terminals (7,8) of generator, and valve device so that the current flow through output terminals is controlled by actuating valve device based on electrical potential at output terminals.
