The building has statically supporting wooden wall panels (1) connected with each other and arranged on top of each other, and floor ceiling panels (2) resting on the wall panels. An upper end of the top wall panel of the building is clamped relative to a foundation (20) i.e. base plate, by vertical tie rods (18), where the foundation supports the building. The vertical tie rods run close to vertical narrow sides of the wall panels, and are provided with an external thread (17) at ends. The base plate and a stairway are made from concrete. An independent claim is also included for a method for constructing a building.
