The melting metallurgical process comprises providing a molten metal (2) containing neither blowing agents nor stabilizing particles into a reservoir (3), introducing the molten metal in an evacuable frothing vessel (7) such as a reusable shaping vessel, foaming the molten metal through rapid evacuation of the frothing vessel with an evacuation rate of greater 5-10 3to 5-10 4Pa/second at a final pressure of 10 2Pa, setting, in the frothing vessel, a cooling rate of greater than 5-50 K/s over the pressure and/or temperature change, and solidifying the metal foam. The melting metallurgical process comprises providing a molten metal (2) containing neither blowing agents nor stabilizing particles into a reservoir (3), introducing the molten metal in an evacuable frothing vessel (7) such as a reusable shaping vessel, foaming the molten metal through rapid evacuation of the frothing vessel with an evacuation rate of greater 5-10 3to 5-10 4Pa/second at a final pressure of 10 2Pa, setting, in the frothing vessel, a cooling rate of greater than 5-50 K/s over the pressure and/or temperature change, and solidifying the metal foam. The introduction of the molten metal is carried out by reducing the pressure in the frothing vessel and via a filler neck connected with the reservoir. A gas pressure of the frothing vessel is rapidly decreased, after the introduction of the molten metal, by connecting the vessel with an additional vacuum reservoir. The molten metal is adjusted, in the reservoir, to a temperature, which is 20-200[deg] C above a liquidus point. An independent claim is included for an assembly for a melting metallurgical process for preparing a metal foamed body.
