The tool holder (1) has a base (5) for fixing the holder in a machine tool, and a head (6) for accommodating a tool. A shaft (8) is arranged between the head and the base. Rotor blades (9) are arranged in an area of the shaft and cooperate with a rotating suction tube (10) that is arranged in the head under formation of a suction hole (11). The rotor blades form a radial wheel (12) of a centrifugal blower (13) rotated with the holder. The tube includes axially aligned or spiral-shaped suction channels (16, 18, 19) that surround the head. An independent claim is also included for a machine tool.
