The mounting arrangement has a release device (22) that is removably connected with a capture device (21). The capture device is used to prevent uncontrolled downward movement of the working platform (18) that is in operative connection with the guide rails (19) engageable to stop the working platform. The release device is actuated for operative connection of capture device with the guide rail for moving the working platform. The capture device and the release device are arranged on the working platform and are freely operated with respect to a hoistway (10). An independent claim is included for a method for stenless mounting of lift in hoistway.
