The hood i.e. safety cabinet (1), has a working chamber (3) surrounded by a housing. The working chamber is closable with a front plate or windscreen (4). A set of surfaces e.g. worktop (32), is allowed to delimit the working chamber, and the set of surfaces is partially provided with a photocatalytic coating (5). An illumination device is utilized for irradiating and activating the photocatalytic coating, where the illumination device provides a UV radiation.
