The device has a bearing (5) cooperating with a stanchion (1), where the bearing is fastenable at a frame for fixing the stanchion at the frame. The frame is provided with an aperture i.e. oblong hole. A centering element (21) protrudes into a side (7) of the bearing facing the frame and engages with the aperture of the frame in a form-fit manner in an assembled state of the stanchion. The element has a maximum cross-sectional dimension, which is approximately equal to or slightly less than maximum inside width of the aperture. A through-hole (9) is concentrically extended through the element. The centering element is formed as a pin or bolt and acts as an anti-twist plate.
