Determination of hydrogen sulfide content during warm storage of sulfur-containing crude and residual oils and mineral distillates containing sulfur-containing crude and/or residual oils involves dissolving a sample of sulfur-containing mineral oil in a solvent or solvent mixture which boils at more than 200[deg] C and supplying carrier gas through the solution of the sulfur-containing mineral oil at more than 80[deg] C, and analyzing content of hydrogen disulfide quantitatively.
