The device has a clamping unit (12) with an electromotive drive (43) that drives an operating mechanism (17). The clamping unit has two retaining elements (15, 16) moveable from a tube releasing position into a tube clamping position by applying clamping force by the operating mechanism. An unlocking mechanism (38) releases the clamping position of the drive by actuating an unlocking element of the operating mechanism such that the retaining elements are moved by a hand from the clamping position into the release position in which the retaining elements release a tube i.e. arterial blood tube. The device has a measurement unit (13) comprising light emitters and light detectors i.e. LEDs, which are arranged around a circumference of the tube.
