Manufacturing a component of a porous alloy having at least one screw connecting element, comprises e.g. (a) deploying the component from the porous alloy, (b) introducing a pilot hole (2) in the component at a space provided for the screw connecting element, (c) inserting a rotating bolt (6) in the pilot hole, where the bolt is conical in shape and/or the diameter of the bolt is greater than the pilot hole, and heating the component material adjoining at the pilot hole at a temperature within the melting interval of the alloy, forming a mushy region (4) around the pilot hole. Manufacturing a component of a porous alloy having at least one screw connecting element, comprises (a) deploying the component from the porous alloy, (b) introducing a pilot hole (2) in the component at a space provided for the screw connecting element, (c) inserting a rotating bolt (6) in the pilot hole, where the bolt is conical in shape and/or the diameter of the bolt is greater than the pilot hole, and heating the component material adjoining at the pilot hole at a temperature within the melting interval of the alloy, forming a mushy region (4) around the pilot hole, (d) ceasing the heat-supply on the bolt and solidifying the mushy region, while shrinking of the bolt at the space provided for the screw connecting element takes place, and (e) generating the screw connecting elements from the bolt. An independent claim is also included for the component made of the porous alloy having at least one screw connecting element, where the component in a region around the screw connection element, which is provided by a shrunken bolt exhibits a reduced porosity and poor in pores having a pore diameter of about 100 mu m, where the region with reduced porosity around the shrunken bolt is producible by the above mentioned method.
