Internal combustion engine e.g. Otto engine for passenger car, has check portions that are arranged between spiral channel outlet cross-sections downstream and turbine wheel upstream, to cause shock charge in shock loading position
The engine (10) has a turbine (58) having a receiving space in turbine housings. A combustion chamber (12) is fluidly coupled with the spiral channels, for feeding exhaust gas. A positioning device is provided for adjusting the outlet cross-sections of the spiral channels. The check portions are arranged between the downstream of spiral channels outlet cross-sections and upstream of a turbine wheel, for causing a shock charge in causative shock loading position and for adjusting hold-up charge in causative jam loading position.
