The compressor (1) has a compressor stator (2), into which a compressor inlet channel (3) is formed for supplying gas to a compressor wheel. A compressor discharge passage (5) is arranged on the compressor wheel to dissipation of the gas. A short circuit channel (6) is branched out from the compressor discharge passage, in which an adjustable closing valve (7) is arranged. An annular space (8) is formed adjacent to inflow side of the compressor wheel. The short circuit channel is opened in the annular space. The annular space is flow-connected with upstream side of the compressor wheel.
