The method involves receiving sound waves with a sound transducer (24) of the acoustics section (20), where the sound waves are dispensed from one or multiple targets. The received sound waves are converted in each sound transducer into a received signal of the sound transducers. The acoustics section is divided into multiple segments. A target is selected from which the sound waves are dispensed. A position angle of each segment is determined for the selected target. An independent claim is included for a device for determining estimated shape of acoustics section of acoustic linear antenna trailed from vehicle.
