The module has a line (2) i.e. thin walled pipe, for receiving and guiding a working medium (3) and a heat storage medium (1), and heat storage elements (1b) are formed in series and made of material with relatively high thermal conductivity. An insulation medium (4) is provided for thermal insulation of individual heat storage elements. The heat storage elements are provided for effectuation and achievement of temperature stratification, temperature gradient and/or a process within the module and thermally disconnected or thermally insulated from each other. An independent claim is also included for a modular heat accumulator.
