The device has a submersible agitator (1) immersed and operated in the interior of a container. Pivoting levers (4, 8) are associated with hinge elements (6b, 6c) for height adjustment of the agitating device. A bearing bracket is arranged in the interior of the container for receiving the pivoting lever, and a supply line is arranged in a container wall (3) in a gas-and liquid-tight manner, where the supply line is provided in a protective tube that is connected with the pivoting levers by a holder.
