The method involves bringing a handheld electronic terminal (12) into a spatial proximity i.e. range of vision, of a subject matter (13) for setting up a radio connection (15) i.e. near radio connection, between the electronic terminal and the subject matter. A short message (10) i.e. short message service (SMS) message, written on the electronic terminal is transmitted to the subject matter over the radio connection, and the short message is represented on an electronic representation unit (14) i.e. electronic paper, of the subject matter in the form of a sticky note. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product with program codes for performing a method for transmission and presentation of short message written on a handheld electronic terminal to a subject matter.
