The mirror (10) has a holding element (12) for fastening the mirror to a component of a motor vehicle in a fastening direction, and a fastening element (20) arranged at the holding element in a position or in another position. The fastening element is provided for fastening the mirror in the inner area in the former position of the fastening element or in the latter position of the fastening element in a fastening direction that is different from the former fastening direction. The fastening directions run perpendicular to each other, where the holding element is formed as a mirror housing.
