The connector assembly has end portions (1,2). The end portions are sealed at fluid-locking position by retaining element (3) and connected to each other. The retaining element is biased elastically at pre-assembly position and moved into mounting position. The retaining element for connecting the spacers arranged at end portion (1) in mounting position. The preassembly position of retaining element is moved into the mounting position by an actuator (6), when end portion (2) is arranged at merging of spacers. An independent claim is included for method for assembling connector assembly.
