The system (10) has a working system (11) comprising two interface modules (12, 18) via which message servers (13, 20) of different types receive electronic messages. The electronic messages are processed by users (16, 21). A security system (23) is formed such that the received electronic messages are transferred into a standardized electronic mail format with a header and a message content and stored in the mail format in a folder system (24). The working system has a message database (15) in which a part of the electronic messages is stored in a unitary format. An independent claim is also included for a method for securing an electronic message.
