The garden- or terrace-fireplace has a base (1), middle section (2), ash tray (9), funnel (3), grate (11), fuel section (4), fire-resistant glass (12), smoke exhaust (6), chimney outlet and cover (15), where a combustible material e.g. wood is enclosed by fully visible glass from every side. A combustion chamber is hermetically sealed to avoid escaping of smoke or sparks to people seated adjacent to the fireplace. Total air flow, such as supply air flow and exhaust air flow is constrained from the lower side of the combustible material entirely through the back of the fireplace.
