The apparatus has feed unit, transport unit (4), presorting medium (2), cleaning agents and emptying unit. The sorting unit (7) is provided to select reusable crown corks (1) into an output. The control unit (6) is provided for controlling and tracking the cork through the reprocessing plant. The monitoring station (5) is provided with a sensor for determining the material properties of the crown corks. An independent claim is included for method for repeated recycling of used containers closures used in reprocessing plant.
