The supercharger has a hot gas housing (1) and a cold gas housing that are arranged at distance in a rotor housing (2), where the hot gas housing and/or the cold gas housing is sealed against the rotor housing. A front end of the hot gas housing and/or a front end of the cold gas housing faces the rotor housing. A running groove (10) is formed concentrically to a longitudinal center axis at the front end of the hot gas housing and receiving a seal (11) i.e. metallic spiral seal, where the seal contains graphite, mica or ceramic felts.
