The method involves generating rotating magnetic fields by star-shaped antennas or antenna modules that are connected to a data bus e.g. local interconnect network bus or controller area network, of a vehicle, and transmitting information to a key, where rotating field antenna-coils are displaced around 120 degrees to each other. A ferrite core or an iron powder core is arranged in a star-shape at an angle of 120 degrees. Position and location of a key is calculated in control devices, and the antenna-coils are connected to sinusoidal alternating voltages. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a receiver (2) an antenna.
