The device (7) has a sealing lip (11) extended from a window shaft strip (9). A seal element (15) is provided at a longitudinal front end (14) of the window shaft strip. The seal element exhibits lower rigidity than the window shaft strip in a longitudinal direction. The window shaft strip comprises a strip core, which is made of core material that is partially surrounded by a base body (16) of the window shaft strip. The window shaft strip comprises base material, where the core material and/or the base material exhibit high stiffness as that of sealing material of the seal element. The sealing material is an elastomer such as thermoplastic elastomer. An independent claim is also included for a window arrangement for a motor car.
