The tool has upper and lower tool molds (10, 11) limiting a mold cavity (13) for a sandwich component to be laminated. Surfaces of the tool molds form a kink (12) at a cut-off point (14). The upper tool mold is provided for formation of a high-quality A-surface of the sandwich component and exhibits a uniform steady surface mold course. The lower tool mold is provided for formation of a less high-quality B-surface of the sandwich component, where decreased distance between surfaces of the tool molds is provided in an edge area. The sandwich component comprises a thermoplastic covering layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a laminated sandwich component (2) a method for manufacturing and laminating a sandwich component.
