The device (10) has a storage spring (16) supported at a body of a motor vehicle by a spring element that is connected with an active wheel suspension by an actuator (12), where the actuator is adjustable by an electric motor and pivotally mounted at the body of the vehicle by a rocker (16). A free end of the rocker is connected with the actuator and protrudes into a helical groove (24a) of a cylinder (24) of a cylinder cam mechanism over a cam (22). The cylinder is adjustably arranged on the body perpendicular to a pivot axis (32) of a leaf spring (16b) and rotatable by the electric motor.
