The control device has an electrically actuated control element (5) that is provided with an adjustable iron core (7) and a solenoid coil (9). A locking arm (35) of a rocker (33) of a brake (1) is switchable about a rocking axis (C) between a locking position (S) and release position (F) while actuating the control element alternatively with linear release stroke and check stroke respectively. The force adjustment of vehicle (8) is blocked during locking position, and force adjustment of vehicle is enabled during release position.
