The electromagnet (1) has a plastic over molding part (2) comprising a flange-sided mold element (4) and a housing-sided mold element (12) holding the electromagnet. Metallic springs (5) carry over axial bias for bearing the electromagnet and springy locking to hold a twist layer. Bias forces of the springs are produced for bearing the electromagnet and locking by rotation of the electromagnet during assembly of bevels (7) at the mold elements. A seal seals a radial gap between the electromagnet and housing (11) and is coordinated to small axial assembly force by design of the housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembly of a proportionally acting electromagnet.
