The electrosurgical instrument has an electrode arrangement (7) and a receiver (8), in which the electrode arrangement is plugged-in with a proximal end area for electrical contacting and for mechanical locking in an insertion direction (4) and in a defined insertion position. An ejector presses the electrode arrangement against the insertion direction, where the electrode arrangement is inserted in the receiver. The instrument is formed as resectoscope (1) with a movably mounted carriage (6), in which the receiver is arranged.
