The device (1) has a support (3) completely accommodating a triangular foldable signal transmitter (2), which is provided with light sources i.e. power LEDs. A sensor releases the signal transmitter during detection of an endangerment state such that the signal transmitter is automatically unfolded and protruded from the support. An optical recorder (5) is simultaneously releasable with the signal transmitter, where the signal transmitter, the support, the sensor and/or the optical recorder are accommodated in a waterproof translucent housing.
