The apparatus comprises a drill bit downstream information generating unit (7) connected to a transmission device (8), for generating pulses, and a receiving unit (9) for receiving and evaluating the information transmitted through the pulses. The pulses are generated as sound waves and are transmitted through the transmission device. The transmission device is encapsulated and is set in central contact with the drill string (4), for flushing the drill string. The sound waves are triggered through mechanical, hydraulic, electric or pneumatically acted impulses.
