The device has module carriers (3) attached to a photovoltaic module. A holding unit (7) is movable in longitudinal direction at one of the module carriers at which the photovoltaic module is attached to the module carrier. The holding unit comprises a tab that engages with a portion of the photovoltaic module in a mounted state. An elongated carrier i.e. galvanized special steel profile, is provided with an oblong hole extending in the longitudinal direction of the elongated carrier for fastening one of the module carriers.
