The thermostatic mixing valve (1) has a housing (2) with the fluid inlets (3,4) and a mixing fluid outlet (5). A hollow control piston is arranged adjustably in the housing. A sealing element is sealingly supported with an overflow edge portion on valve base portions (7,8) at the fluid inlet. The overflow edge portion at the control piston is formed in non-circular shape or oval shape, such that the peripheral length or course length of the overflow edge portion is greater than the circle or oval shaped edge portion of the piston.
