The element has a luminescent layer containing electroluminescence particles comprising plasticizer and encapsulated endowed zinc sulfide, and a water-dispersible or water-soluble protective colloid comprising gelatin and exhibiting viscosity of less than 400 millipascal seconds. The electroluminescence particles exhibit average particle diameter of more than 20 micrometers, preferably more than 30 micrometers. The luminescent layer contains 10 wt.% protective colloid, 0.1 wt.% water, and 0.005 wt.% organic solvents with exception of ethanol. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacture a luminous element.
