The system has a thermochemical heat storage element (2) i.e. adsorption storage element, including a storage medium i.e. adsorption unit, which adsorbs substances by delivering heat energy and desorbs the substances by receiving the heat energy. The heat storage element includes a working medium e.g. water, which is adsorbed/desorbed by the adsorption unit. The storage medium is selected from a group of a clay mineral, metal oxide, silicate, alumino silicate i.e. zeolite, and silica gel. The working medium is contacted with the storage medium. The working medium is gas, steam, and aerosol. An independent claim is also included for a method for heating a motor vehicle.
