The apparatus comprises a shell core designed as physical electrical measuring unit to increase an attainable measuring range. The measuring range is increased to maximize the grade for the operation of a one-side open electric oscillating system or resonant circuit (30) of the shell core by the introduction of appropriate measures. An entire arrangement or multiple sections are operated in a certain resonant frequency which is predetermined by the resonant circuit of the shell core. Electrical control of the resonant circuit minimizes the attenuation of the circuit.
