The structure (1) has one or multiple transverse connectors (3), which are manufactured as an open profile i.e. hat profile. The structure is formed as a single-piece component and made of tailored metal sheet blank or metal material e.g. iron and/or steel, which is in a partially cured form. Retainers (4, 5) provided for a socket of a head supporting part and/or a functional element is integrated into the structure. A plate (7) is three-dimensionally formed. Martensite present in the iron and/or steel is partially greater than or equal to 80wt. %. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a structure for a vehicle seat.
