The spacer (1) has a spacer main structure comprising bearing surfaces (3,5) for supporting two components (9,11) respectively. The spacer main structure is made of material which is decomposable or soluble due to heat, radiation, humidity, moisture, bacteria or chemicals. The material is selected from a group consisting of paper, paperboard, cardboard, a starch blend, wax, bio-plastic, cellulosic product, polylactide or hard gelatin. An independent claim is included for method for relative aligning and mounting of two components.
