The method involves adapting natural frequencies by adjusting the mass of one or more brake calipers such that vibration overlays or resonance is largely prevented during operation. The brake caliper (10) is introduced into hole (16) on non-structural weakening point such that the natural frequency of the brake caliper is then individually measured and the desired natural frequency is adjusted in case of deviation by enlarging/depth of the hole or by inserting a more or less mass stopper (18). An independent claim is included for device for tuning natural frequency of vibration stressed component.
