The method involves embedding an optical fiber (2) in glass-fiber reinforced plastic (1), and closing an end (2a) of the fiber in a region of an outer surface (1b) of the plastic. A ferrule is firmly connected with the plastic and the end of the fiber by an adhesive. Another ferrule is pushed on an end of another optical fiber so that a fiber projection is provided. The latter ferrule is firmly connected with the latter fiber. The ferrules are interconnected by a common guide sleeve. Front sides of the ends of the fibers are aligned and turned towards each other. An independent claim is also included for a device for connection of optical fibers.
