The method involves positioning a transmitter wheel (16) in a circumferential direction (4) at right angle to a shaft (7), and connecting the wheel with the shaft. A positioning pin of a mounting tool is engaged with a positioning recess (9) in the wheel, where the pin is arranged with all-round play in the recess. The wheel is rotated with markings in the direction under a magnetic field sensor of the tool after the positioning of the wheel until the sensor detects a defined edge of a signal cource and rotational angle-aligned position of the wheel to the shaft.
