The method involves passing a fluid i.e. cold vapor partially into and through the tunnel shaft, where the cold vapor is passed in an area (7) below a turbine wheel (9). An inlet opening (10) is formed at a lower end of the tunnel shaft i.e. at the turbine wheel facing away from the tunnel shaft. A suction unit is arranged at an entry (12) and an exit (16) of the area below the turbine wheel, so as to draw the cold vapor through the tunnel shaft. An independent claim is also included for a turbo-generator device.
